Lumosouls is a faith-centered online mental health platform operating at lumosouls.com. We connect clients with vetted Islamic psychologists, counselors, and life coaches through a controlled referral and matching process.

For data protection purposes, Lumosouls is the data controller for information collected through this website.

When you submit a session request, we collect:

• Your full name and email address
• Your country and timezone
• Your preferred session language and schedule
• A description of your main concern and relevant background
• Your urgency level and prior therapy experience
• Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider – we do not store card details)

When you visit our website, we may also collect standard technical data including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, through cookies and analytics tools.

3. How we use your data

Your personal data is used solely to:

• Match you with an appropriate specialist from our vetted roster
• Send you booking confirmations and session Zoom links
• Process your session payment
• Manage your ongoing sessions if you book again
• Comply with our legal obligations

We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent, and we never sell your data to third parties.

4. Who sees your information

Your intake information is shared only with:

• Our admin team – who review requests and coordinate matching
• Your assigned specialist – who receives relevant intake information to prepare for your session

Your specialist’s full name and personal contact details are never shared with you, and your details are never shared publicly or with other clients.

5. Session confidentiality

All session content is confidential. Specialists are bound by our code of conduct and professional ethics standards. Sessions are never recorded. The only exceptions to confidentiality are where disclosure is required by law, such as where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.

6. Payment data

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details on our servers. Your payment provider has its own privacy policy which governs how your payment data is handled.

7. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Session intake records are retained for a minimum of 5 years in accordance with standard clinical record-keeping practice. You may request deletion of your data at any time – see section 9 below.
