You operate as an independent contractor. You set your availability. You take on as many or as few clients as suits your practice. Your full name, personal contact details, and profile are never made public. Clients cannot reach you directly – all contact is managed through Lumosouls.

Every client who reaches you has been reviewed and matched specifically to your profile. No cold enquiries, no unsuitable cases, no time wasted on initial consultations with poor fit.
Secure Zoom platform
All sessions are conducted via Lumosouls’ own Zoom account. You do not need to manage links, waiting rooms, or technical setup. Everything is arranged before the session.
Reliable monthly payment
Fixed fee per completed session, paid monthly. No chasing invoices, no late payment, no admin overhead around billing. You complete the session; we handle the rest.
Values-aligned clients
Every client on Lumosouls is seeking faith-centered support. You will never be asked to sideline your Islamic values or navigate the exhausting cultural translation that mainstream referrals often require.
Who we are looking for
We maintain a high bar for admission to the Lumosouls roster – because our clients trust us to do so. Every application is reviewed personally.
Professional requirements
- Recognised degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or related clinical field
- Professional registration or licensure in your country of practice
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification clinical experience
- Current professional indemnity insurance
- Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace for video sessions
- Fluency in at least one language relevant to our client base
Values requirements
- Genuine grounding in Islamic values and understanding of Muslim lived experience
- Cultural competence across diverse Muslim communities
- Commitment to Lumosouls code of conduct and confidentiality protocols
- Agreement to conduct all sessions via Lumosouls Zoom only
- Willingness to receive ongoing support and participate in quality review
- No direct client contact outside the Lumosouls platform

Specialist FAQs
Can I work with Lumosouls alongside my existing private practice?
Yes. The majority of Lumosouls specialists maintain their own private practice alongside their work with us. You operate as an independent contractor, not an employee, so there is no exclusivity requirement. The only stipulation is that clients who come through Lumosouls remain on the Lumosouls platform and are not taken into your private practice.
What is the fee structure?
Specialists receive a fixed fee per completed 50-minute session, paid at the end of each calendar month. The specific fee is discussed and agreed during the onboarding process and reflects your qualifications, experience, and specialisation. Contact us for current rates.
Do I need to be Muslim to apply?
While the majority of our specialists are Muslim, we assess each applicant on genuine Islamic values alignment and cultural competence – not solely on personal faith identity. What matters is that you have deep, authentic understanding of and respect for Islamic frameworks, not that you personally hold those beliefs. Each application is assessed individually.
How long does the application process take?
We aim to respond to all applications within 48 hours of receipt. Successful applicants then go through a brief onboarding process including document verification, a values alignment conversation, and platform orientation. Most specialists are ready to receive clients within one to two weeks of initial application.
